CoopDistro.com is a
cooperatively operated web store and auction site for use by the
international underground / DIY punk / hardcore / grind / metal / etc.
music community. The idea is to create a central marketplace where
individuals, labels and distros can sell their wares, either by auction
or through fixed price listings. Sellers have the option of listing
their items in the general public area, in their own private stores, or
both (there is no extra charge to open your own store). CoopDistro.com was put together by people who care for the benefit of the entire DIY/punk community. We have been around for a long time and have also worked on other projects you may have heard of such as Profane Existence magazine and record label, Extreme Noise cooperative record store, the very first Book Your Own Fucking Life magazine and a host of other projects that benefit and support the DIY/punk community. Coopdistro.com does not have a central warehouse where all of this stuff ships from. Instead the items are listed by individuals, distros, and labels all over the world. For shipping information please check the item description carefully. Most sellers will combine multiple winnings into single packages to save on shipping costs. Check individual seller listings or stores for the best shipping rates to your geographical location. CoopDistro.com was put together by people who care for the benefit of the entire DIY community. While there are fees associated with some aspects of this site, the intent is self sufficiency rather than making wheelbarrows full of profit. The fees are generously low compared to the other major auction sites, with the intent of keeping as much money within our movement as possible. Below is a breakdown of the fees associated with using this site: BUYER FEES: There are no special joining fees to buy from CoopDistro.com. The only fees at all for buyers is if you place a Wanted Ad. Wanted ads cost $2.50 each and all accounts automatically come with $5 credit for ads or selling fees.SELLER FEES: SELLER VERIFICATION FEE: END OF SALE FEE: BASIC LISTING IS FREE: OPTIONAL EXTRA LISTING SERVICES AND FEES: STORE FEES: The Account Details box on the Member's Area Summary page shows your current account balance. All accounts start with $5 credit to offset the Seller Verification Fee. As you sell items, use some of the additional fee-based listing options, or place Wanted Ads, this credit amount will be reduced. There is a Maximum Debit amount of $50 (i.e. your credit limit). You will be billed each month if you account balance is over $5 negative. Accounts over the credit limit will automatically be suspended until the account is brought back within the credit limit. Please use the "Credit Your Account" box to pay your fees. Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Amex are accepted (will be billed from Profane Existence). Yes, more features are coming as we have time and money to implement them.
